One
If
I asked the earth
To open and receive me
Would you catch me
Before I fall?
No, you would fall short.
Can you
Satisfy the hunger that consumes me?
Or, are you a mere morsel.
Can you
Quench my parched soul?
Or, is your water
Too bitter
To behold.
There is but
One
Who will catch me.
There is
One
Who can satisfy me.
There is
One
and only
One
Who can quench me dry soul.
Who sees
With the unseen eye
There is
One
Who hears
The cry of my heart
There is
One
Who calms my passions
Into quiet
Peace.
One
Jesus.
I asked the earth
To open and receive me
Would you catch me
Before I fall?
No, you would fall short.
Can you
Satisfy the hunger that consumes me?
Or, are you a mere morsel.
Can you
Quench my parched soul?
Or, is your water
Too bitter
To behold.
There is but
One
Who will catch me.
There is
One
Who can satisfy me.
There is
One
and only
One
Who can quench me dry soul.
Who sees
With the unseen eye
There is
One
Who hears
The cry of my heart
There is
One
Who calms my passions
Into quiet
Peace.
One
Jesus.
