    Passion

You hold me in your grasp,
    demanding, intoxicating, engulfing my world.
    You take away my safety
and give me thrills I never knew existed.

Warm caresses have awaken my flesh
revealing a veracious hunger too long denied.
    Vibration swells throughout every cell,
as my skin demands to be wrapped with yours.

    Heat rises with your image,
suffusing my being, robbing my sleep.
    I’m ensnared, entranced, enamored.
Thoughts are clouded with your scent.

I taste you on my tongue,
as you linger there welcomed and longed for,
leaving a thirst that can only be quenched
by your strong lips and hungry desire.

    Tormented, enchanted, bewildered,
I surrender my peace of mind and my slumbering sensuality
    completely to your skillful artistry
That deftly knows how to shape a lover.

The future is immaterial and all forms of connection my masters.
It’s the present that controls me with every hoped for acknowledgement,
causing me to crave, yearn, ache for more.
Food is not enough to satiate,
only you can feed this hunger.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
