Biography

An ordinary man living in extraordinary times. Moved by human rights issues I separately met and marched with Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy and Cesar Chavez at a very young age. Encouraged by new found friendships I jammed with Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix at 15 and ranted poetry with Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Alan Ginsberg, and Richard Brautigan in the years after that.
And for 3 decades I settled into personal counseling, high risk prisoner rehabilitation, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and
inner city school tutoring with my good friend, Isaac Hayes.
Recently I have been encouraged back into a favorite haunt, poetry.
I am very proud of my good friends, the poets of passion and humanity
who give light back to our sometimes dark, forbidding world.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
