    Ready for Love

    Am I ready for love?
I am not sure exactly what it is or how it is supposed to feel.
I know my desire is to have someone to share joy and pain with, since both are real.
I have friends and we do this kind of thing for each other, but I feel deep down there is more to being a lover.
I cannot describe what is missing in strictly friendship ties, and I don't believe in all the happily ever after lies.
I want to experience the full breadth of love no matter what it ends up meaning.
I want to know another human at the deepest level of their core being.
How many people get to know love in such a way, that with just a glance they can see and feel the experiences of another?
Not just know that their life is hard or that it seems they are having a good day, but know what keeps them awake at night and what motivates them to live through the next day.
I get close to that kind of feeling with my dearest of friends, but I still don't know all the facets of their lives and what it would be like to live in their skin.
I want to hold someone and feel them breathing.
I want to touch them in a place beyond words and meaning.
I don't know if that is love and I know there will be more then I can ever anticipate, but I am ready for love and grateful that it is never too late.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
