Red Tailed Hawk Easter Sunrise 2009

Red-tailed hawk sits on old wooden cross at Easter sunrise

Creature sublime, power from the cross,

Basks in an Easter sunrise story.

For our souls’ redemption by His loss

 Victory soars to Heaven’s glory.

A hawk is a bird of prey. Seems it was symbolic of how Christ was treated by the world. Harmless rabbit the hawk will dive and carry away. But unlike the rabbit he will be back.

That was a moving write. I especially like the picture. It almost feels like a representative has come down to look over things from the cross.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
