Poem Commentary

Alone again.

Reflections of a Happy Man

soaking six feet into sediment
I am settlin' into a new mindstate,
I am not great.
Oh yes I have my flaws.
Perfection gives me fits,
So I am forced to fiddle with reality.

Hope is at home snoring
While frustration is coming down,
Pouring.
I try to outrun the depression;
But look, its gaining on him.
I try to dodge the tears;
But look, its raining on him.

Feet unfirmly planted in this muddy sand.
Here I stand.
I am what I am.
No longer can I be,
A Reflection of a happy man.
