Relapse of Loss

Poem Commentary

Just my thoughts on a reoccurring dream/nightmare, that I continue to have in waking hours.

Relapse of Loss

Again you appear
just to go away once more
Why must my soul be tortured
Why must my heart call for you
Why must you, come back at all
do you find pleasure
in the pain you bring
Is it my Weakness?
Your reassurance of power.
Something you have to do
to be whole in your own way
I can never cease
being your emotional toy
my heart allows you to play
my mind tells me go
My soul told me NO!
Again you appear,
just to go away once more.

Why must my soul be tortured?
Why must my heart call for you?
Why must you, come back at all?

Do you find pleasure ,
in the pain you bring.

Is it my Weakness?
Your reassurance of power.

Something you have to do,
to be whole in your own way

I can never cease,
being your emotional toy,
my heart allows you to play.

My mind tells me go.
My soul told me NO!

The age old battle between the heart and the mind. Seems the heart generally wins out. 1o from me.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
