R.I.P. Dad
Not too many memories dad, you died when I was young
11 years old, lost no father just a son
Baby sister saw it coming through a dream she had
It messed the family’s head up, it was your time but man
Nobody deserves to go and I needed you here
Remember when I was 8, you let me sip beer
My lil cousin snitched on you messing up the whole game
But Jigga said, “you live and you learn” ain’t nothing changed
Every now and then, I crack a Colt 45
Thinking bout the good times, I talk about in these rhymes
I had it real hard, nearly kicked out of school
Cause I was acting a fool couldn’t follow the rules
Your mom set for me
For her it was hard to see
How hard it was with all women and no men in my life
So many times I cried myself to sleep at night
But despite it all I grew into a man
But at the same time I wish I could hold your hand
I have to live with it though it makes me sad
That’s why I got this tat, R.I.P. Dad
