sacrosanct

  • Just completed my new collection of poems, "Time Machine", a collections of Rock Ballads to set your own music to.

sacrosanct

in her cap and gown
she covered solid ground
and didn't know where it would all lead
the sages came and went
and said that she was heaven sent
and sometimes she would believe

G-d was there, G-d was not
as she laid down to take a second shot
and the sages prayed for her soul
they washed her with their handsome words
they baptized her and those hidden wounds
as she moaned out sacred rock and roll

her angels sang of warmth
her angels sang of warning
but morning arrived just the same
the rain came down in shudders
and she thought of all the others
that had kept her warm but always in pain

when the four of them awoke
feeling rich but almost broke
happy to have been there and back
they sighed like dreaming cats
and everyone laughed and imagined that
the rain was waiting like the guy in the cab

you have left ambiguous clues, too many to unravel, cap and gown- a graduate, an expectant mother, a surgeon, or a woman in for surgery? and everything else stems from there. I'm opting for a successful surgery celebrated. But then, I was never there....

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
