She Lives

She Lives

She Lives

After being burned and left for dead
After being tortured in her own bed
After all the hurtful things were said

She Lives

After a night full of frights
After living with no light
After all comfort was removed from sight

She lives

With memories of would've, should've, could've
With scars that can be seen from far above
With the acceptance she too deserves to receive love

She Lives

who is she, i wonder mysteriously evocative

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
