SHOULDA, WOULDA, COULDA
SHOULDA COULDA WOULDA
Of all the things I’ve done
And everything I’ve had the chance to see
Never would I have thought
My life would be so incomplete.
Everyone had warned me
I even ignored my mind in fact
Despite the truth, I remained
In love with a man that couldn’t love me back.
Now I try to imagine
What if it had been the other way
Would I be the one breaking hearts,
And you pleading with me to stay?
If the shoes were on the other foot
And the love you had ran deep
Would you love the wolf in disguise
That dressed the part that played the sheep?
I shoulda listened, I coulda waited
And I woulda if I hadn’t fell
So far in love and over the hills,
To love’s kingdom called HELL!
