You were a man of your word,
well at least I thought.
You always showed you cared,
to bad you got caught.
Your cheating ways you tried to hide,
then you started showing your bad side,
the arguments, the fights
its a wonder why we never got it right.

I endured your ignorant and disrespectful ways,
telling me you loved me but never being able to stay.
Faithful to me, our family, our life
beating me during the day, hurting me during the night.
I always asked myself what it was that made you wander,
asking why I never could satisfy your hunger.

I figured it was just the selfishness in your heart,
never being able to tell love and lust apart.
Your ego was big, your values were low
leaving days at a time to hurt me
but never really wanting to let me go.

Keeping me around to endure the pain,
parading them around without an ounce of shame.

Its funny how you say you've changed,
I know you may try but its in your blood,
not really knowing the true meaning of love.
