So alone

    So alone

    Alone I sit
    Longing to be held
    Feeling empty inside
    And alone there I dwelled

    I want to be hugged
    And feel you warm breath
To keep me from the thoughts
    Of cold hearted death!

    Cold and alone
Bare and scared to be afraid
    Of fear within me
    That you… regretfully made

    To leave me alone
    And to forsake my face
    To never be held
    And leave without a trace

    The thought of being held
Is like clothing to my skin
    Because when you are gone;
That will bring me to my end!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
