    Sweet Child

    The tears left behind,
    The sadness I have felt...
    The hidden sorrow beneath,
    The pain I have dealt...

    These tears of regret,
    Must I hide them still?
    Shall I show the anger,
    This rage I feel?

    My mind left in slumber,
    Oh sweet, sweet embrace...
    The welcoming sight of darkness,
    My solitude, I face.

    A minute or a day,
    What difference is there?
    Time seems like nothing now,
    Precious moments; rare...

    My dear old friend,
    You have taught me well.
But now I must bid goodbye,
    So long, and farewell...

Take me far away, right now,
    Let me see the light...
I must be free of this madness,
    This unwanted sight...

    Oh please lead me now,
    Before things turn worse,
    Let the blood drip down,
    Let the insanity disperse...

    Sink into the silence,
    Sink into the dark,
No more pain, no more scars,
    No more criticizing remarks!

    Let the room be filled,
    At sweet music's behest...
    The music of the mournings,
    The music of my rest...

    Sleep well, sweet child,
There is no more to fear...
This light now shines your darkness,
    Your journey ends here...

This was a beautiful poem. Really evokes a bittersweet mood.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
