    Tamed

    Breathing makes it hard.
    Crying makes it easy.
My tamed heart, lost in a gush, wanting to break free.
But, hold it; love has no meaning to me, or it
means so much I am afraid to let it be.
Closing the door to my heart and losing the key.
Thus, it has half drowned, afraid to be under water completely.
So, the key has been lost and the lock has been molded to last
    all eternity.
And even as the lock threatens to break,
    it will never truly unlock.
Dust of time has made it hard brick.
Though, my half drowned heart cries out inside.
It’s humming a song of unknown ties to come.

I like the fact that this work deals with captivity, yet it hopes for the eventuality of emergence too. Nice.

This is absolutely beautiful. I love that it is sort of angst-driven and painful, but there is this faint hint of redemption in the last line. Clever. Provocative, and ultimately reassuring. I love it.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
