    that day

As the river runs red i run across the river bed
lead  through the woods as if running with stolen goods
i race down  by its side as a sun slowly begins to hide.

I called out your name but silence was all that came
and your body was still as if you had lost your will
drowned in your misery this is all just killing me.

I can't go home alone now that the sun has set and the moon has grown
for you have gone and once again the burden was put upon
another friend made, another friend lost, the cost of the coin when the penny was tossed.

Great word play that speaks of how our choices and decisions effect the lives of others... thank you apotree..nice work!.."SpiritSong"

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
