    The Dream

From a wish of a star, Life seemed so far
The very distance from the sun
I heard a faint whisper of a gun
I could not scream, I could not shout
As my mind stood still this very bout.
    The shadow seemed so near
It gave me shivers and fear.
As it started moving closer, I just stood there.
I could not awake from this very nightmare,
As the shadow in my dreams did appear.
I tried to let out a sound
But all in my dreams I could not be found.

I like this, it's interesting though i can't put my finger on it. I do, however, absolutely love the last line best of all.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
