    The Dusty Trail

    The Dusty Trail

    Traveling down the dusty trail
Stopping only long enough to watch a few quail
All day long we have not a care
Peaceful spirits lingering here and there
With my riding partner close by my side
Along with my every step and stride
Days like these are certainly rare
Just me, my dog, and my 'ole gray mare

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
