The Promise

If, we made this decision to honor,
To respect ourselves
Would life be so hard?

If, we try to understand that hope
Lives and breathes for us
Would there be fewer tears shed?

If, we could love unconditionally
Would violence have a name?

If, we are made for knowledge,
Why is the truth so hard to believe?

If, we made this decision to honor,
To respect ourselves
Would life be so hard?

Some valid questions in need of answers. Now, petition the answers! Nice piece!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
