The Shadow That Was Lost :(
...
the sound of its voice
echos in your ear.
slithering through your mind
every second
it appears.
like a shadow on a sunny day
always beneath you.
like lightning,
sending bolts of shock that rumbles through your body.
leaving its faint echo,
eating at your sanity.
its voice
like a faint whisper
haunts your every blink.
...
wanting to rid its cursed murmurs;
how insane your mind grows.
it must be
a dream,
just a dellusion
that picks at your brain .
...
as the day grows colder
the breathe you take holds back.
in the back of your throat,
a rush of stiffling wind
wraps around your tongue.
choked.
...
the ground.
cold and unfriendly to all life
...
the ground.
darker than the bags around your eyes.
...
you slowly drift away
departing from reality.
and the ground you lay upon
is mean to the core.
...
the sun;
that is hidden beneath the gray,
painted clouds.
life-less as the earth becomes bare.
warmth from its raze vanquished
as the shadow;
struggles to hold on
tormented by the winds' blow.
trying to grasp the flimsy piece of thread,
the thread,
dangling from the last bit of reality
...
until the chills swoop in
the frost that stormed out from the clouds
with speed they soar
...
letting go
the shadow,
lost grip.
it had slipped
the last strip
...
the last,
the strip lost,
that which contained the bitter sweet feel of sanity
the way to reality
gone
it failed to shadow upon.
ridden from all life beneath you
...
all darkness caves in on the moment.
all around it learks,
all but your awkward body.
your fragile being,
that lay upon the cold and hardened ground
alone
for just a moment
shadow-less
sending a single tear
the tear that fell from above
up.
beyond the clouds
that shed the faint,
now pale tear;
clear as the tear running from your eye.
...
your cheeks flushed
your nose stuffed
the tears that fall,
hits the cold,
darkened,
surface
we call reality.
...
so long
my fearless shadow,
so long
for when the clouds turn gray,
and the wind
pulls at your tongue,
for you,
my shadow
will come to grip,
the last strip of reality
that you long,
...
so long,
my shadow.
