your face

your face

make me real,
as real as the sun shines on your hardened face.
call my name,
so i know I'm heard.
rid me from all darkness.
that fills my heart with hunger
~
oh hero,
open my eyes,
so i can see your face,
the face of a savour.
the face of the hope that shields me from doubt,
oh hero.
~
I hunger for the happiness you live,
I hunger for the hope you hold onto even in these dark hours.
~
help me find the sun,
to light my sullen body from disintegrating into the remorse.
~
revive my soul from the wounds that cover my skin.
from the pain that we suffer,
bandage all the scars,
that covers my face.
~
as my tears drip,
they drop.
creating puddles of water that you dry,
they drip all over,
and yet you know how to dry my face.
~

I love your style, I once had a very similar style, except all I've really been doing latley is writing lyrics for my songs but I notice I say things like "oh!" a lot, and I love that expression, keep writing :-)

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
