    The Tragedy of My Shadow.

    Lightly the darkness I ring.
    Faintly visible --
    the outer darkness --
To cast tenderness on the darkness within.

    When they speak,
    I soundlessly echo.

    I am movement,
    without consciousness.

    Lightly the darkness I ring...

    I am the butterfly's wings
Unable to stop should I want to.

    I am your foot --
    Movement without thought.

    Shadow, shadow!

I am neither strong nor smart
    Fluttering with the light

But how you cannot cast me aside!

For where you go, I am.

And where you rest, I rest.
