I was told to shoot him,
But I’d lost control.
How else could I repay them,
Except with his or mine own soul?
So I, only 14, pointed my weapon.
And he, only 13, begged “please don’t!”
Turned my head, my arm aimed at him,
Pulled the trigger like the cowards wouldn’t.
My name is unknown; I am part of the FARC.
I loved my family in my heart,
So I’ll sell the bastards’ cheap cigars…
It keeps us all apart.
