Those Beautiful Eyes
What was my goal?
Why do I care?
Maybe I'm down because
of that cold stare.
You know what I mean,
When you look at those eyes,
beaten by tears,
so easy to recognize.
The warm, loving connection
of the eyes has gone astray.
The warm, loving feeling
inside has gone away.
Those beautiful eyes,
that I've grown to love,
have now become dull.
This push changed to shove.
And I feel so bad,
because I did this to you,
I made your wonderful eyes
lose their hue.
Why did I do it?
Was my goal to make them tear?
It had to have been something else,
because that is my greatest fear...
Why do I care?
Maybe I'm down because
of that cold stare.
You know what I mean,
When you look at those eyes,
beaten by tears,
so easy to recognize.
The warm, loving connection
of the eyes has gone astray.
The warm, loving feeling
inside has gone away.
Those beautiful eyes,
that I've grown to love,
have now become dull.
This push changed to shove.
And I feel so bad,
because I did this to you,
I made your wonderful eyes
lose their hue.
Why did I do it?
Was my goal to make them tear?
It had to have been something else,
because that is my greatest fear...
