Torn in two

Torn in two

I promised you friendship
But I like you more than I plan
There are obstacles in the way
Keeping us apart
I want to keep the promise I made
But you said that you liked me
And that you're torn in two
I want things to be easier for you
But I just don't know what to do

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
