Train of Thought

Train of Thought

I lost my train of thought
As if the switches turned
Half of me left
Half right out of my mind
The engine is tugging my memory
Shrugging off excess baggage
Of keeping it all together
As if I had to travel first class
All neat and clean
When part of me slums it rides
On freight trains that pass
Through back alleys and dumps cargo
On the dock of thoughts too dark
To handle in daylight
