Untitled

There once was a girl
her heart empty ad cold.
She gave up on her own life
trying to find a way out.
Thinking no one cares
she contemplates different ways.

All alone in the dark
do you question yourself?
All alone by yourself
do you try to find a place?

A boy screams into the night
asking someone to help.
A father who hits and screams
but never knows when to stop.
A mother loses her child
and doesn't know how to carry on.

All alone in the dark
do you question yourself?
All alone by yourself
do you try to find a place?

At night I question somethings
I wonder how things end.
How other people make choices
why do they torture themselves?
Learn to cope, stop, and take control.

Because in the end no one can save you but, you.

[2x]
All alone in the dark
do you question yourself?
All alone by yourself
do you try to find a place?

very good, hits the spot with good imagery

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
