We Shouldn't Know

We Shouldn't Know

Our days have been filled with sorrow and joy,
with smiles withheld that made them true,
but I'm tired of being closed and secluded,
and I only want what's best for you.

My feelings for you are like sweet potato pie,
full of mixes not so good for the heart,
I could only have you some of the time,
but it's worst at the end than from the start.

I can't imagine what we would be like,
because we still have time to grow,
even though my heart aches to start right now,
I think it's better if we didn't know.
