We(a world perspective)
The magic of
the world around
it brings us up
it drags us down.
We surround ourselves
with those we love
and give our prayers
to God above.
We find inspiration
by stories of faith
and love and hope
from those who don't stray.
There are also people
so miserable and down
that upon their face
is only a frown.
If we could love them
and make them smile
the world might be better
even just for awhile.
Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
