    Without You

    I can't help
    what I do
    as I sit here
    without you.

    Thoughts of you
    fill my mind
    I wish you were here
    all of the time.

    When I'm with you
    I can be me
    you make me so happy
    everyone can see

    When we're apart
    I'm full of despair
    not seeing you
    so lovely and fair

    To you I will
    always be true
    for I am nothing
    without you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
