    Wedding

Have you ever felt that burning
that hot iron on you heart love
    that pulsing on your breath
urging you to let your nerves free
but you know better than to do so
    for today is your day

That hustle and bustle the hour before
the hair and the nails keeping you at bay
    the excitement and jumpy feelings
there all just part of the game, your game
but you know it will go away soon
    for today is your day

    Lovers entwined with rings and
truth opened up to all others today
the binding kiss sealing your fate
that you will be together forever
but you already know that don't you
    for today is your day

    You wedding day

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
