What being a Blackbelt means to me By MaKayla M. Aldrich
A year and a half ago
I became a member of family of TaeKwando
To make myself strong, against my foes
So now I have finally reached my goal.
Building my self esteem and my confidence
Look real hard, you will see the evidence
My journey has been hard and long
But now,I finally feel like I belong.
TaeKwando, ways of the hand and feet
Alot of new friends I did meet
Walk through the doors, you bow and greet
Now I can walk with confidence down the street.
Cresent kicks and backhand strikes
Learning all our forms and one steps to earn our stripes
Front stances,back stances,deep knee balance
Lord knows I cannot dance
From the belt of white,to the belt of black
I keep my forms in sight,so none,will I lack
The belt is just a belt, its the one who wears it,will make it black
As I break my boards with a smack.
