What have we here?

What have we here?

what have we here'
here in our midst
a little druggie boy
in hell now sits
he fought for his life
we must admit
but we fought harder and made him quit

you cannot escape me
and theres no one to blame
but yourself, you druggie
Addictions my name

had we met before
you saw me with your parents
before it drove them off
before it blew theyre brains
yes it is i who killed them
though they dont seem dead
but no one can escape me
once youve laid in my bed

you cannot escape me
and theres no one to blame
but yourself, you addict
Addictions my name

ill be there when you die
and laugh in your face
you cant leave me behind
ill forever give chase
dont worry good friend
itll be just swell
you see what that says?
"welcome to hell"

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
