    What to do without you?

    I could run and jump.
But that is no fun without you.
    I could sing and hop.
But that is no fun without you.
    I could travel the world.
But that is no fun without you.
I could see a movie and eat popcorn.
But that is no fun without you.
I could go dancing all night.
But that is no fun without you.
I could stay up all night.
But that is no fun without you.
I could get into a fight.
But that is no fun without you.
I could swim in the ocean.
But that is no fun without you.
I could sleep until the sky falls.
But that is no fun without you.
I could drink whiskey all night.
But that is no fun without you.
I guess there's nothing to do without you.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
