When I Die

When I Die

I dedicate this poem to every man, woman of the past, present and future. Let us be reminded it is (death) appointed for everyone to die, yet while you are alive hold on to the unchanging hand of God until your change comes.

When I die don't cry for me, bury me with dignity; As I long to be with God to spend eternity.

When I die despite my passing years while battling scars and memories, I carry from the war, abuse from child hood, even now I cry endless tears.

When I die; don't speak of the good you didn't speak while I was alive; it seemed like years ago when I told you I loved you, but you didn't listen, when it was only yesterday I died.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
