When Will We All Care?
Our world is slowly dieing. The air is filled with the needy crying,
Some from an illness that causes pain,
Others from hunger as they hang their head in shame.
What will it take for someone to care?
When will these cries cease to fill the air?
An elderly woman sits alone in her home waiting for her life to end,
Loneliness eating away at her soul and all she wants is a friend.
A young child whimpers as they slowly and reluctantly walk home;
They tremble in fear of the abuse that awaits, bruises and broken
bones.
What will it take for someone to care?
When will these cries cease to fill the air?
With all of the accomplishments mankind has made in medicine,
Why hasn't something been done to stop people from suffering
pain again and again.
All the food in the world and there are still many children who die daily from starvation,
If more people don't start thinking of their fellow man there'll be
no hope for the world's salvation.
It only takes an outstretched hand to show that one cares,
It takes but an apple, an ear to listen and/or a phone call to lessen the cries of suffering in the air.
When will we all care?
