Who Are You
He didn’t claim to be the Messiah
But had the patience of a saint.
A fulfilling burst of happiness,
A peace he gave me every day.
And so it seemed as days went by,
His world became my lullaby.
Softly, slowly drawing me near,
Comforting whispers in my ear.
Hours seemed pointless in the warmth of embrace,
Capturing moments unmistaken, now gone with no trace.
Who are you to fill me up
With the sound of heaven in your call.
Who are you to watch me crash
And not be there to break my fall.
You let go like Buddha, in the moment, disappear.
You understood, though not concerned of what I need to hear.
Your silence is either your curse or your blessing,
For me, an indefinable lesson.
I raised you up as something you weren’t
You know, you’re only human.
Mistakes you made, I became afraid,
Mistaking fear to be alluring.
Quiet Messiah-like lover, I feel your pain.
Until we heal from our troubled past, we cannot meet again.
