    Within Without

    I miss our closeness,
    you inside me
    completing me
    loving me
    speaking from within.

    I miss our fullness,
    you outside me
    guiding me
    cherishing me
    sheltering me from without.

    I miss our bond
    when English failed us
    we spoke in tongues
    The heavens separated.
You came down from your throne...

    Then,
    You weren't God.
    I wasn't man.
    We were lovers,
    Lord,
    I miss that.
