    Your Day

For nine months you carried me
For sixteen months you nursed me
For eighteen years you sheltered me
And for the twenty three years you were there for me
I give this day to you

For the next twenty four hours I'll be here for you
For every minute I'll cater to you
For every second I'll show you that i appreciate you
For this day is all about you
    Today is your day

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
