    A Brand New Place

    A BRAND NEW PLACE
    Soon you will see
    Things are meant to be
    Soon you will learn
The time has come, it is your turn

    You fear tomorrow
    You fear future sorrow
    Ten times ten
    What you did back when

    You know the drill
    You simply sit still
    You don’t move a finger
    You mind begins to wonder

    Will this be like yesterday?
    When you ran away
I think you will just have to learn
This was simply not your turn

    Then you think
    Will my turn ever come?
Will I ever be able to sing
Or will I always feel numb

I think I am able to see
That this was not meant to be
    This was truly my turn
But I chose to let it burn

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
