A First Date
A FIRST DATEI paint my eyes in colored hues.
I lightly gloss my lips
I check my watch a 1000 times
My heart makes anxious flips.
I smooth my clothes and check my face.
My date is almost here.
Around the house I quickly pace
And try to hide my fear.
The phone call comes; It's time to go.
He waits for me outside
I shake his hand and share my smile
And ask " Ready to ride ?"
We share a meal at Tommy's
And some easy conversation
I wonder what has happened
To my earlier reservations
I feel myself relaxing
It's as if I'm with a friend.
I start to feel excited
And to hope we'll meet again.
We take a trip for ice cream
Then a movie at my place
I snuggle close beside him
And enjoy his warm embrace
We share a little silence
And he ask me for a a kiss
I press my lips against his
In a simple moments bliss.
He hugs me when he has to leave
And says that its been great.
I tell him that I feel the same
A perfect sweet first date
