    A Frustrated Man's Plight

    A Frustrated Man’s Plight

    Take my life
    Lord I pray thee
    Take it without a knife
    Thou combination of three.

Unleash thine angel of most peaceful death
To spare me this cold world of thorns
Take my life, so I take my last breath
Of farewell to this world of mourns.

    Though to you I’ve pledged
Not to utter this request so ungrateful
But lord rebuke me not to be judged
For these hate and trials are too painful.

Take my life in this peaceful manner
Whilst I lay on my bed
Take my life, thou Israel’s banner
    Without a spill so red.

And Lord they say at thy feet awaits judgement
Fair and incorruptible, like a weighing scale
With a sentence to happiness and enjoyment
Or exposed to eternal suffering without bail.

Lord hear my most humble plea this night
    That when I depart
I be subjected to no such plight
But left to lie as a dead pagan apart.
