    A Look down Life’s Highway

As I journey down life’s path

I no longer see that endless highway

    Suddenly there appears

    Many bumps in the road

At one time the trip seemed endless

A companion always by my side

    Keeping my mind occupied

    Making for a comfortable ride

But now I can sense the journey’s end

Though it feels like it is afar

It is a journey that will run out of road

It no longer seems like a distant star

I have accepted the inevitable destination

Though I think about the deprivation of time

Do I really want an unending supply?

I believe it would be a lonely ride.

The inevitable clash between us and Father Time....We cant beat him nomatter how hard we try. Getting older has its benefits but still sucks. I like this poem very much! Its something we all can relate to. Thank you for sharing!

Its something to ponder about but we always seem to find the answer in our hearts instead of our minds ... Nice write

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
