    A SPECIAL DAY FOR YOU

    On this special day, I pledge my love

    To death do us part or a call from God above.

    This small token I give to you is a symbol of my support.

    It come from my heart and not a decision from some court.

    The happiness that you bring has been absence for awhile.

    It starts with your kiss and ends with your smile.

    The positives are few and the obstacles are many.

    But the love that we share will overcome plenty

    These are my words and not phrases from a store.

    A lifetime is too short , forever is more.

    If these sentiments ring clear in your heart and are true

    With the simple but profound expression know that I love you.

    Thank you for sharing on this special day of caring - though sometimes this day seems to commercialized, it does force us to take a step back and look at what love is and what it means to us... what those near and dear to our hearts mean to us. Your words are genuine and that is how poetry came about - a way to express and to demonstrate feelings, emotions, to speak with conviction. A 10 from me for it's purity!
