    A World Without Music?

    A WORLD WITHOUT MUSIC?

    A world without music?
Let’s hope there will never be
What a dreadful place we’d live in
    If nobody ever sang.
I’d miss the satisfaction of hearing a guitar
    Or any kind of instrument
    Played with lots of heart.
    I couldn’t go one day
    Without singing some old song
    Or moving to the rhythm
When the beat urges me along.
    I’d miss appreciating
    Watching artists ply their trade
    The feelings, thought, emotions
    Put to words and melody
Expressing all we’d like to say
Getting us through. . .lighting our way.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
