Bell Bottom Jeans
BELL BOTTOM JEANS
Bell bottom jeans saved from ‘76
Attached is a memory
‘Cause they’re missing a tag.
They’re worn and torn,
Patched in denim, they’re frayed.
A relic kept from another time
One small piece of a life
Treasured for sentiment
They’ve aged well, it seems.
Today I thought to try them on
And I got a nice surprise!
They slipped right on, they felt so good,
They fit me just the same!
The fringes tickled the tops of my feet
And I have to admit - it felt kind of neat!
For a moment I backtracked
I stepped back in time,
Recaptured a memory. . . .
I put them back with a smile.
