    ABANDONED MOMENTS

    "Abandoned Moments"

The Sun shined on that day, posing and flaunting as it glistened,

Opportunity danced gracefully with eloquence and precision.

Chance sang lullabies hoping all would listen,

but fearful Eyes and doubtful Ears extinguished their mission.

Rain drops are dissolved and many Moons have risen.

Genuine feelings of love with every heart beat,

words filled the Mind as Spirit galloped and leaped.

The Soul sparkled with glory, and Body was willing to seek,

As Anticipation was bursting for courage to speak.

But the Lips remained sealed causing all to feel weak.

Waves crash against sand everyone different than the last,

Abandoned moments are just regrets of letting time pass.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
