“I Cling Tightly and Wait”
“I Cling Tightly and Wait”
by
Jack Dowdy
i think therefore i am
but what is my existence but a shell of its former self
“Playing it smart!” is what killed my joy
It is a death which only one can resurrect
it is she
Not all the riches
Nor all the spoils of earthly kings
Nor any other lady in the world
Could ever come close to magnificence that is my angel
So I hold onto the only one who can bring her back to me
Unseen, he sees all
Incomprehensible, he knows and understands
The ways of pain
He knows them all to well
The nails through his hands
The gnarled crown of thorns
I cling tightly to Him like the helpless child that i surly am
For i know that he is my only hope
For happiness to come
I cling tightly and wait.
