“The Forgotten Man”
“The Forgotten Man”
By
Jack Dowdy
When you search yourself within your mind
My image, my face, is what you'll find
Why do you mock me, have you no heart
You get you kicks when i get torn apart
Where can i run to
Where you'll leave me be
Floating face down
In a salty tear sea
Less significant than a grain of sand
To you I am the forgotten man
You were once my loved one
Adorned with affection
Where did that run to
I'm lost in reflection
I once was your on;y one
loved and adored
Now I am meaningless
Of me you're now bored
But that's ok
You can be that way
There is no emotion
Left now to convey
Less significant than a grain of sand
To you I am the forgotten man
