Among the waves

by the sea off the land
there she lies there he stands
there his love has fallen down
in the mist among the waves.
he kneels low by her side
his eyes fill, he stares to cry
weeping sorrow fills his soul

looking hard at her wrist
seeing only two large slits
here he fades, here he falls

driving down a rode that winds.
he stands before a hangers noose
